30 Jul Donate at Deepwater for Homelessness Week
Now is your chance to Donate at Deepwater Plaza Woy Woy for Homelessness Week.
In Australia, there are over 116,000 people experiencing homelessness on any given night.
Homelessness Week aims to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness on Australia via national and local community events, including providing information on the importance of housing as a solution and educating communities on how they can make a difference.
Deepwater Plaza Woy Woy is doing their bit for Homelessness Week. They’re collecting non-perishable food, toiletries and more for Woy Woy Community Food Pantry and Mary Mac’s Place to help those in our community experiencing food insecurity or homelessness.
The Woy Woy Community Food Pantry provides affordable groceries and resources to struggling families and members of the community.
Mary Mac’s traditionally supplies a sit-down meal served to our companions by our wonderful volunteers. Currently, they are offering a takeaway meal due to COVID restrictions.
But it’s more than just a place to get a meal – it provides connection, value and belonging without judgement. Mary Mac’s offers a place to shower and wash clothes. They offer friendly support and companionship to address the experience of isolation and loneliness of some vulnerable people in our community.
If you’re in a position to support those in need, here are some ideas of what’s suitable to donate at Deepwater Plaza Woy Woy:
